A/B Wallpaper Guide

A new way to experience pattern at scale

Some designs are simply too expansive for a single roll. A/B wallpaper divides one generous, uninterrupted pattern across two companion rolls. The result is wall-to-wall artistry on a scale traditional formats can't achieve.

Immersive Design

The A/B format is rooted in the tradition of hand-painted and panoramic wallcoverings, where a pattern was designed for the wall as a whole rather than for the roll. It brings that same sense of scale and storytelling into the modern home.

What Is an A/B Roll?

An A/B roll design features a large-scale pattern that spans across two coordinated wallpaper rolls before repeating.

Unlike traditional formats, A/B rolls work in tandem – alternating between Roll A and Roll B – to create a seamless, uninterrupted visual flow. It’s the ideal format for showcasing bold, expansive motifs with maximum impact.

How A/B Wallpaper Works

Each A/B design is presented as a pair of companion rolls, Roll A and Roll B, clearly identified on every label. Neither roll is complete on its own: each holds one half of a single, expansive composition, and only together do they reveal the full design.

  • Two rolls, one artwork: Roll A and Roll B carry complementary halves of the pattern, conceived from the outset as a unified whole.
  • A considered rhythm: hung in alternating sequence, the rolls meet seamlessly drop after drop, so the design flows uninterrupted across the wall.
  • Scale, unrestrained: freed from the limits of a single roll width, motifs can unfold at a grand, almost painterly scale.

Installation tip: Before you begin, separate your rolls into A and B and confirm each label. Hang your first drop from Roll A, follow with Roll B, and continue to alternate around the room. Two neighbouring drops from the same roll will break the flow of the design, so check the sequence before pasting each length. For full guidance, always refer to the instructions on the product label.
