1940's original office - Graham & Brown

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN: HAYGARTH STREET, BLACKBURN, LANCASHIRE.

1946

Founded by Harold Graham & Henry Brown. Where it all began.

1946

Featuring our Original, founders Harold Graham & Henry Brown. Plus the first surface print machine is installed at India Mill.

1948

The family feel of the business is nurtured with team trips to the Lake District and Christmas Parties. The Graham & Brown culture is established

1950s

Continued Growth. Growth brings about further investment in machinery and brand.

1960s

Two generations are better than one. Featuring our 1960s winding machines.

1970s

Growth in Europe. Barbara Castle MP came visit. New advertising campaigns go live. The original board room from Haygarth Street is preserved and moved to India Mill. 1975, Henry Brown’s Grandson, John Carter, no Chairman joins the business.

1980s

Continued innovation and our first national TV ad. Graham & Brown celebrated 40 years.

1990s

Graham & Brown America Opens. Henry sadly passes away. Andrew Graham, Harold Graham’s Grandson joins the business. New location at the Design Center and Shuttleworth Mead warehouse and a purpose built distribution centre with 8 million roll capacity.

2010s

Cool brand awards. Made of Design Campaign. Launch of International Wallpaper Week. John Carter celebrates 40 years of service.
Andrew Graham receives his MBE. Made for each other campaign.

Marking 80 years in business, opening flagship showrooms, and giving the brand a refresh to keep up with the times whilst maintaining our heritage.
