The art of adding this fiery tone to your home is to use it alongside other colors that harmonize and balance its forceful nature. This allows you to bring out the subtleties of red without overwhelming your space. Red and gray, for example, is a dynamic combination for a modern home, with a warm gray softening the impact of red and giving it a more subtle, approachable character in a living room or bedroom. Team red and pink together and you have a charming ombré effect that can lift a dark space or breathe new life into a dull corner. Gloss red and white in a kitchen gives it that wonderfully modish mid-century vibe, or try something a little more daring by perfectly partnering red paint with a bold signature wallpaper in a living room.
Red can be combined with some surprising partners, such as blue that bring a cooler element to the warmth of red tones. Green works exceptionally well with red, creating a vibrant and striking juxtaposition. Look for wallpaper and wall murals that feature active combinations of red and green and use red to accent the contrast between the two, or try adding black notes for a showstopping look in a bedroom or living room.
Are your paints water or oil based?
Each of our paints are water-based, which means they are all low odour and have a lower VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) level than any oil-based paints. It also means they are extremely quick drying, meaning you can get more out of your project in less time. Volatile Organic Compounds contribute to atmospheric pollution when they evaporate (when the paint dries), and they can be found in chemicals used across many industries such as soaps, building materials, and cleaning products.
What’s the difference between your everyday emulsion and resistance ultra durable matt emulsion?
Our Everyday Emulsion has a slight sheen. Our Resistance Ultra Flatt Matte Durable Emulsion has a 1% sheen level with Class:1 Scrubbable classification. But what does this actually mean? Our Resistance Ultra Durable Matte Emulsion is so tough that it will keep its luxurious flat matte finish even after cleaning. That’s right—no lifting paint, leaving white marks, or burnishing when you clean it. It is brilliant for high traffic areas such as hallways and living rooms because of its durability and resistance to bumps and knocks. Our Everyday Emulsion is more suited to lower traffic areas such as spare bedrooms or studies and is perfect for use on any ceilings. Please note: whilst our paints are dry to the touch within a matter of hours, water-based paints take approximately 28 days to fully cure. This is when the paint is 100% dry and has reached its full hardness/durability. Until the paint has fully cured, it will not withstand knocks or wiping/cleaning.
