When you’re decorating that special room for your new arrival, there’s a world of wonderful colours to choose from. The art is in striking the right balance between inspiring and soothing, stimulating and restful. Neutral colours give you an effective ‘blank canvas’ that you can embellish with wall art, beautifully bright and uplifting nursery curtains, and cosy pillows and throws. Traditionally, it’s blue for a boy and pink for a girl, but who says you have to conform? Bring in a zesty yellow paint tone from sunshine yellow to pastel primrose and perfectly partner them with soft green nursery curtains in a subtle sage colour. This creates that ideal balance between soothing and stimulating and will also fit in with the rest of your home décor.
Nursery curtains from Graham & Brown are made to measure so they fit beautifully, whether you go for a classic pencil pleat drape or our new Wave drape, which works particularly well with contemporary designs. Eyelet curtains are super-easy to hang, making them practical to take down and wash whenever you need.
Frequently Asked Questions
What lining do I need for my curtains?
We offer various lining options for our made to measure curtains. Each has its own practical properties while also enhancing the overall look and feel.
Our standard lining is the most affordable option and is used solely to enhance and give your main fabric a backing, helping to protect the fabric from direct sunlight by filtering out the light in the room whilst also creating a nice drape. This light filtering option is lightweight and produces a soft natural glow in daylight hours. Available in ivory.
Our satin finish lining is medium weight that gently filters out light whilst creating an improved drape and finish. Satin lining is available in ivory and white.
Our blackout/thermal lining is a specialised heavyweight lining option and our top pick to eliminate light from the room when drawn. It also helps protect the main fabric from direct sunlight to avoid fading. Our blackout/thermal lining helps keep the room cool in summer by reducing the amount of light dispersing into the room, and during those colder months, it helps retain heat, making this a fantastic choice for bedrooms. Other benefits include reducing energy consumption and noise pollution. This option is ideal for windows and doors with a draft and gives a beautiful drape and finish. Our blackout/thermal lining is available in two colours, ivory and white.
Interlined curtains contain an extra layer of lining that is placed between your main curtain fabric and the backing/lining. The interlining provides greater thermal efficiency and gives your curtains more body. This is a great option if you want your curtains to have a fuller look, creating a more opulent and luxurious feel.
What kind of fabric is used to make your curtains?
Our curtains are made using different fabric types, this includes cotton, linen, chenille, velvet and satin. For more information on the specific fabric and composition used, you can refer to the product details page.
Will there be joins in my Curtains?
Larger curtains will require a join in the fabric. Curtains over 1260mm wide will have a single seam in the fabric. If your fabric contains a pattern, the panels will be pattern matched across the seams.
Are blackout and thermal curtains the same product?
Yes, they are the same product. As well as filtering out sunlight, in the summer months, they can add privacy and warmth to any room with there thermal qualities in the winter. Take a look at our blog exploring both blackout and thermal qualities of these curtains.
