...a legendary fashion icon

Born in Poland, but raised in England, Barbara Hulanicki began her fashion career in the 1960's working as a freelance fashion writer. A few years later, in 1964 BIBA was born. The small fashion boutique quickly grew into iconic status flanked by rock stars and celebrities of the 60's and 70's She has created looks for Cacharel and Fiorucci, and has even designed hotels for Chris Blackwell in Jamaica and the Bahamas.

In 1987 Barbara arrived in Miami Beach where she reinvented herself yet again as an interior designer. She is credited witth resurrecting Miami's crumbling Art Deco district.

In a recent interview with the New York Times, Hulanicki referenced Alphonse Mucha, Gustav Klimt and the Pre-Raphaelite movement as some of her biggest influences.
