uart was set up in the Norwegian city of Stavanger and is regarded as the world’s leading celebration of street art. Selected artists are invited to leave their mark on the chosen city walls reflecting the culture as well as defining it. The use of street art (in America hand painted billboards were outlawed in 1965) but now companies are reintroducing this art form using this format to target a more youthful audience. Around the world street furniture is being turned in to works of art.
As urban graffiti becomes more acceptable so too does the beauty of the decayed and distressed. In stark contrast in other zones of the metropolis are precision structure and futuristic patterns.
