Its early January, we are all on route to Frankfurt, Germany for 5 days – it can mean only one thing – Heimtextil is here again ! Heimtextil is the largest international trade fair for home and contract textiles and wallcoverings and the global benchmark for quality, design and innovation
As the first trade fair of the year, Heimtextil, is a platform for the cream of international manufacturing, retail and design.
With 2658 exhibitors from 62 countries, the show attracts more than 66000 vistiors over the 4 days of the show so its anything but quiet!
The best part of the show for me is that first morning, entering the massive Messe exhibition hall , walking through the quiet halls before the show starts and that first glimpse you get of the Graham & Brown stand – it never ever fails to impress, but this year it looked spectacular. The theme was ‘decoration for every room in the home’ so as the wallpaper stood proud on the back walls, illustrated furniture in bold black and white represented every room in the home.
fabulous ‘ikat’ and ‘botanical’ designs adorned the stairway while designs from our newest superfresco
collections ‘Eden’ and ‘Bohemia’ reigned resplendent in the dining and drawing room.
werent forgotten either as a perfectly beautiful flocked princess design glimmered in the bedroom, while a cheeky vintage Mickey Mouse
paper adorned the playroom. Our mischievous new license, Moshi Monsters had a full wall to themselves and topping everything off – we digitally replicated our stunning Graham & Brown unique story wall by illustrative designer Lizzie Mary Cullen from our reception back in Blackburn to stand proud in the Messe hall.
Last but not least, our iconic Frames design had been reversed into black on white and launched especially for the show and framed our bar area beautifully.
As the coffee started bubbling the show sprang to life as friends and customers old and new joined us keen to see the latest wallpaper
and wall art
launches, we didn’t disappoint, with 12 new wallpaper collections launched since last year’s show and new wall art and kids accessories too – new and existing customers from Dubai, Singapore, India, Brazil, Russia and too many more to mention were warmly greeted as they pored over the new collections and placed their orders.
It seemed like no time at all that 4.30 came, the pre-planned cocktail party arrived, the music went on, the lights went down and the drinks flowed, business talk turned to chatter and laughter as we spent the last 2 hours of the day catching up and enjoying our customers company – for Graham & Brown business really is pleasure.
As finally each customer left for their hotel, the lights were tuned off and the last glass washed we reflected on another fine day in Frankfurt and got ready to do it all again the day after…and the day after
Many thanks to all of our customers old and new who joined us at Heimtextil where we met old friends and made new ones, here’s to 2014 and a great start to a New Year.
