Designed as part of our NEW WAVE collective and printed on our paste the wall paper so the product is both easier than conventional wallpaper to hang and remove, this fantastic design welcomes you to a London of narrow streets in Lizzies delightfully quirky style, use the design in its graphic black and white to create a real talking point in your home, alternatively you could create your own artwork by colouring in part or all of the design.
Illustrator Lizzie Mary Cullen’s distinctive swirling pen-and-ink drawings have gained her a bit of a cult following. For the New Wave Collective, the Londoner has created two psychedelic black-and-white designs, Lizzie’s Doodle and Colour Me! ‘When I was a child, my parents found it really annoying when I drew on the walls. Now being grown-up, I realise I was basically vandalising their home on a weekly basis,’ she laughs. ‘So, with Colour Me!, I decided to create a wallpaper that was half-finished, letting creative kids do all the work.’
With Cullen’s designs, the more you look, the more you see and that is very much the case with Lizzie’s Doodle. ‘I wanted to create something that is fantastical. London is one of the oldest cities in the world and the most modern. I wanted to capture the urban complexity of the city, drawing out both its magic and normality.’
